About Me

Fun fact, I was probably one of the earliest Western VTubers.
I have absolutely no proof of this.

The name The Nerdic Translator comes from two things:

  1. In my day job, I specialize in breaking down complex topics for beginners. I have often described myself as a "Nerd to Normie Translator."
  2. As a Canadian in Mexico, I tend to be a bit taller and bigger than most of the people around me. When my wife's best friend first met me, she called me a "viking" and that's been their nickname for me ever since.

Side note: the runes in the logomark are the letters "N" and "T" in a runic writing dialect known as Short Twig Futhark. Yeah, I went historically accurate for the logo, at least.

But The Nerdic Translator isn't the first iteration of my identity as a VTuber, and isn't the beginning of my story.

I came up with my old VTuber identity a long time ago, streamed for a month or so with the old FaceRig app, using one of their default avatars. Then I put the idea away while I slowly built the streaming setup of my dreams. In 2022, I'd been through some stuff, and I needed a way to let off steam, and let my freak flag fly.

In 2022—with encouragement from some friends (Cori has got to be regretting this about now)—I pulled the trigger, and relaunched the my VTuber brand. Ever since then, I've been streaming off and on, making videos off and on, getting silly on main, writing fantasy stories, and generally trying to make the world a more entertaining place.

As of April 2025, I have retired my original VTuber identity, and replaced it with the Nerdic Translator brand you see now. At the time of writing, I don't have a proper new model because those ain't cheap. I currently stream and record with an adorable squirrel model that I found on Booth.

I am going to replace it, but for now it's more than enough for me. I love the little acorn hat.

Want me to look at your indie game, post on social media about it, or even make a stream it/video? All you need to do is ask nicely, and I'll happily take a look at your game.

Want me to write for your indie game? (I have it on good authority that I write some killer lore... but I can't show you that yet because NDAs.) Want to hire me to help with your content strategy, or to write game reviews for you?

I can do—and have done—all that and more. I have over a decade of experience writing under my real name (my full portfolio is available if I get to know you), and a few years under my belt making content as SuperSexyKawaiiGirl.

You can contact me over on Bluesky for now. I'm still setting up emails for my new VTuber brand.
